Government authorises world bank aided grant under KLGSDP to local bodies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The local self government department has authorised an amount of Rs 191.64 crores as world bank share and Rs 127.75 crores as state share totalling Rs 319.39 crores to the qualified village panchayats and municipalities.
The project director of Kerala local government service delivery project had furnished a list of 834 gram panchayats and 64 municipalities found eligible for the performance grant under world bank assistance under KLGDSP for the year 2015-16.
The bank share of the performance grant is Rs 683.27 crores. The state share due is pegged at Rs 248.43 crores and total fund is Rs 931.7 crores. The total funds released by the state government is Rs 1013.66 crores.
The excess fund already released as state share is computed as Rs 81.95 crores. There is a budget provision of Rs 345 crores out of which Rs 319.39 crores is recommended for releasing as performance grant for 2015-16 in the ratio of 60:40 between world bank and state government.
